How Apple let a hacker remotely wipe an iPhone, iPad, MacBook

Gizmodo's Twitter account was recently hacked, after a former employee's iCloud account was breached, and all his Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air) were remotely wiped. It turns out the hacker didn't even have to get the password: he just tricked Apple's tech support.

LG Display Pays Most in LCD Price-Fixing Settlement


LG Display Co. LPL +5.08% agreed to pay the largest sum among defendants to settle a U.S. case in which it and numerous other manufacturers were accused of price fixing in the liquid crystal display market.

LG Display was one of three defendants that agreed to settle Wednesday the class-action case before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, San Francisco Division, according to court documents. LG, which is the world's second-largest producer of LCD displays by sales after Samsung Electronics Co., agreed to pay $380 million in damages, including civil penalties to state governments of $19 million.
AU Optronics Corp. AUO +5.65% and Toshiba Corp. 6588.TO +1.97% had also agreed to settle, at sums of $170 million and $21 million, respectively....

Samsung involved in customer Fraud and got caught

Samsung, LG, and carriers fined for price fixing by Korean FTC

Summary: The $40.2 million fine was divided among Samsung, LG and Pantech, as well as Korean carriers SK Telecom, KT Corp and LG Uplus.

South Korea's Fair Trade Commission (FTC) has fined Samsung, LG and Korea's carriers $40.2 million for price rigging and consumer fraud.
The FTC found the companies guilty of working together to fix prices and defraud consumers. The companies had apparently inflated the prices of phones and then advertised them as improved special offers.
