UNIX is very simple, it just needs a genius to understand its simplicity

 Dennis Ritchie  (September 9, 1941 – October 12, 2011):

While the rest of the world mourns for Steve Jobs there is a small group that mourns for Dennis Ritchie. He is the father of the computer language C. Though he may not be a big name like Steve Jobs his achievement is not a bit less than that of anyone. In fact most of the famous people have been on the shoulders of Dennis.

Most of the computer applications were written in C at one point of time.Computer science students know about Dennis Ritchie through his book "The C Programming Language". Every computer student must have written some kind of C programming in their early days.

And by learning C many had earned a good fortune. For many the language C provided and is providing their daily bread and butter.

 His quotes are:

  •     "I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the demigodic party."
  •     "UNIX is very simple, it just needs a genius to understand its simplicity."
  •     "C is quirky, flawed, and an enormous success."
  •     C has "the power of assembly language and the convenience of... assembly language."

 Good Bye Ritchie.

RIP.
