Buying an LCD TV

I had a small 20 inches philips tube tv for a while. It is a flat screen. The pictures are very clear in that.It has only brightness and color adjustment. But it was enough the only problem is that I was not able to read the rollinthe g credits at the end of the movie.

Then I bought a flat screen monitor for my computer. It is 22 inches samsung monitor.I felt that my computer monitor is bigger than my tv.

So I planned to buy a LCD tv for the living room.

I did a lot of research and got confused a lot.

When I talked to people the confusion grew more and more.

"The LCD tv technology is still emerging. It would be foolish to buy a LCD tv".No I don't want to be foolish.

"Do you know the contrast ratio of the tv that you are planning to buy?".Contrast ratio?? what is it?

"Do you know the refresh rate of the tv?".Refresh rate???

Don't the TV makers take care of these things for you?

When I had the tube tv I don't need to worry about these things. The only issue with that is there are no big screens. And even if they have big screens they are way too heavy.3 people were needed to lift the 32 inches tv my friend had.

I spent almost a year researching the LCD tvs and the terms used.

Finally I came to a conclusion that nothing matters if you want to enjoy a tv.Just buy anything you like.

By doing more research and analysis the time you enjoy your tv is getting reduced.

So finally What did I buy?

None of the research mattered when I bought the tv.

 I bought a Toshiba regza.

I saw this in a client's place and liked it and didn't worry about the specifications.
